Me encantan mis cuadros. Me divierto mucho haciéndolos.

I´m very lucky to work with my hands.
I do portraits, interiors and religious images, set in a background painted with watercolours and tempera, using fabrics, lace, pewter foil, coloured beads, pearls, wood, leather and a large etcetera. All this gives the images a lot of volume, and the box frames makes them look like small theatres.
At first I embroidered in petit-point and as I had many threads left, I began to draw on canvas the backgrounds of houses and landscapes to embroider. I also started to give volume to the religious images, with fabrics, lace and pewter foil.
Later on I began copying the masterpieces that I liked best, to create my own miniature museum with pictures of Holbein, Velázquez, Goya, Tiziano…etc. I was drawn specially to portraits, which I made in postcard size, with painted backgrounds and volume from the fabrics, wood, leather and cold porcelain.
From fiction I moved on to reality, and now I do Ogaminana tailored tableaux for each one of my clients. The face of the main character is a real photo, his/her hair is made of thread, the clothes of fabric, the shoes of leather, the coat of fur, and the jewels are made of tin and beads…etc.
These portraits are the perfect synergies of reality, hopes/desires/dreams and memories. Objects, travels, music, books, pets, hobbies and specially the magic of having them all together. Having as many details as possible always makes them better.
For outdoors I use moss, fabric flowers, and logs to give the ambiance a natural image. The houses are made with cardboard and painted wood, and as all the pieces are independent, the illusion of depth of field becomes very real.
The interiors are a loyal copy of reality. They resemble the XIX century dioramas. I reproduce the print of the fabrics in miniature, the furniture with cardboard and wood, using cold porcelain for some objects, glass beads for the ceiling lamps, etc. I can mix the sea/mountain landscapes with the city, the house interiors with a garden. Everything is possible.
The religious images of saints and Madonnas are like http://asti-serigraphie.com/?koftina=rencontre-x-%C3%A0-asni%C3%A8res-sur-seine&076=d4 ex-votos, with a painted landscape, clothes with antique fabrics, laces, pewter foil, beads and objects related to their history. I love my tableaux. I really enjoy making them. Sometimes I´m even sad to part with them once they are finished, but I love that the rightful owner can have them and discover the love of the person who commissioned this little universe for them.
